The Scholarship Fund

The Rochelle D. Tilghman Scholarship was established in 2016 by her daughters in honor of her life, professional, and personal achievements.  Education was extremely important to Ms. Tilghman and she remained committed to earning multiple degrees, even after starting a family.  She exemplified her passion as a leader at Harris-Stowe State University and often encouraged those around her to take advantage of educational opportunities.

One scholarship will be awarded annually, preferably to a single mother pursuing a degree in accounting at Harris-Stowe State University or Fontbonne University.  The scholarship can provide financial assistance for CPA fees and other educational costs, in a separate request to the foundation.

The Rochelle D. Tilghman Scholarship will be awarded to scholars who exemplify scholarship, character, and leadership in the classroom and community.
